Pat Ferns
President / Executive Producer
Ferns Productions Inc.

Pat Ferns is a Principal of the International Institute for Television Leadership (IITL) and President of Ferns Productions Inc. as well as Direttore, RomaTvPitching at RomaFictionFest and Consultant to the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival. During his career, he has produced some of the world's leading television and new media industry events. These include the Banff Television Festival, the World Congress of Science Producers, the World Congress of History Producers, the World Congress of Arts Producers & Performance, nextMEDIA, News World International and the Alliance Atlantis Banff Television Executive Program (AABTEP).

Doug Macnamara

Doug has more than 25 years experience in Leadership, Governance and Executive Development, Strategic Facilitation and overall Organizational Development. He has specialized in strategy formulation and implementation, high-risk environments, organizational leadership, branding, and sales/marketing/service development.
Doug Macnamara joined The Banff Centre in March, 1994 and served as Vice President, The Banff Centre and General Manager, The Banff Centre for Management until July 2001 when he left to set-up Banff Executive Leadership Inc.

Pat Loughrey
Director
Nations & Regions, BBC

Pat Loughrey was appointed as the BBC’s Director, Nations & Regions in May 2000.
Pat began his career as a teacher and freelance broadcaster for UTV, BBC and RTE. He joined the BBC as an education producer. In 1988 was appointed Head of Educational Broadcasting, BBC Northern Ireland. He became Head of Programmes in 1991 before becoming Controller, BBC Northern Ireland in 1994.


Dr. Patrick Hoerl

Dr. Patrick Hoerl is the founder and managing director of the new factual entertainment label AUTENTIC GmbH, which produces and distributes high quality documentaries. The company was launched in 2008 together with Jan Mojto and is based in Munich.
Between 2006 and 2008 Dr. Patrick Hoerl was country manager of Discovery Communications (DCI) in the German-speaking regions and therefore had an overall responsibility for all DCI business activities in that area. At the same time he setup, launched and became managing director of DMAX, DCI’s first Free-TV-Channel worldwide. From February 2006 onwards Dr. Patrick Hoerl was also member of the Senior Management Team for Europe/Middle East/Africa of Discovery Networks Europe in London.


Frank Boyd

Director
Unexpected Media

Frank Boyd has been one UK’s new media pioneers since establishing the Arts Technology Centre in 1989. He was a founder of the European Multimedia Labs, the Digital Media Alliance and BAFTA’s Interactive Entertainment Awards before joining the BBC Innovation and Learning as Director of Creative Development. At the BBC Frank directed development labs for interactive television, broadband and cross-platform production. He established Unexpected Media in 2002 to support innovation and creative research in future media. Recent projects include The BBC Innovation Labs and the international Crossover programme in Australia, Canada, Scandinavia and the UK.

Laurence Meyer

Analyst
Forrester Research’s Marketing and Strategy

Laurence is analyst at Forrester Research’s Marketing and Strategy client group. She serves Consumer Product Strategy professionals. Her research deals with how innovation and the rise of digital entertainment influence consumers’ behavior and market players’ midterm development strategies. Laurence has a specific interest in TV issues. Her research agenda includes topics like HDTV, on-demand TV consumption, interactive TV, IPTV, overthe-top VOD and TV services, “anywhere TV” as well as targeted TV advertising, Blu-Ray, or consumer device preferences for digital entertainment activities.
